Tennessee Corporate Sustainability

Global Action Platform surveyed Tennessee's largest corporations to learn about their goals and investments in sustainability. The major sustainability initiatives are reported.

As engines of economic growth and impact on society and the environment, coporations are today playing leading roles in improving the social, environmental, and governance impact of business operations.

Models for advancing and measuring sustainability include ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) programs; Michael Porter's concept of "shared value;" and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) launched in 2015 at the United Nations.

Across Tennessee, the leading Fortune 500 companies and other large Tennessee businesses are actively developing corporate strategies and programs to advance sustainability, contribute to the implementation of the SDGs, and to create shared value through sustainability. The survey conducted by Global Action Platform summarizes these activities across Tennessee.
