Nashville, TN; Richmond, VA — Global Action Platform, a national and international nonprofit dedicated to advancing scalable solutions for food, health, and prosperity, has been awarded a $1 million restricted grant from the Virginia State General Assembly and executed by Virginia Department of Health to advance health literacy and equity in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
The grant is restricted to support Healthier757, an innovative regional initiative that combines digital health education resources, personalized community engagement strategies, and collaboration with local organizations to address health disparities across the region.
Healthier757: A Vision for Health Equity in Hampton Roads
Healthier757 aims to enhance health outcomes by increasing health literacy among under-resourced communities in Hampton Roads. Many residents in these areas face significant barriers to accessing preventive health services and essential health information, particularly in low-income neighborhoods. These challenges often result in higher rates of chronic and preventable diseases.
The grant provide free access to vital health information through its game-based and incentive-driven online platform, Rewards for Healthy Living. The platform is powered by EdLogics, a Virginia Beach-based digital health communications and consumer engagement company dedicated to improving health literacy by transforming the way people learn about health.
“Healthier757 is about more than information access,” said Dr. Scott T. Massey, Chairman and CEO, Global Action Platform. “It’s about changing lives by addressing root health disparities in under-resourced communities, making health equity a reality in Hampton Roads."
"We are cultivating community health partnerships and programs, combining regional collaboration with innovative, technology-driven strategies. This grant allows us to support community organizations already assisting challenged neighborhoods by using Rewards for Healthy Living to engage, educate, and empower individuals with the confidence they need to take control of their health and well-being,” noted Dr. Thomas M. Chamberlain, Founder and CEO of EdLogics.
